Principles of Organic Agriculture

Principle

Organic agriculture is based on the management of the living part of the soil, respecting biological cycles and the environment, for a healthier, more economical and more autonomous production.

Fertilizing the soil to feed the plant, stimulating the biological activity of the soil, helping the plant to resist diseases and pests without contaminating the environment, avoiding traces of residues, maintaining the integrity of the living environment...

These are the objectives of Agrobiology.

Vineyard maintenance

Ploughing, partial or total grassing, green manure... The use of herbicides, even in localized application is strictly prohibited.

To fight against diseases naturally one can use sulphur to be sprayed but also copper which is to be used in small quantities. There are many simple and effective ways to take care of a vineyard while respecting the environment and the health of consumers.

Fertilization is done with compost, seaweed, rock powders and organic fertilizers only.
Mildew is treated naturally with Bordeaux mixture, copper oxychloride, copper carbonate, etc... No synthetic fungicide is used.
Oidium is treated with powdered sulfur (flower sulfur) and wettable sulfur.
To fight against the grape worm we use Bacillus thuringiensis (biological control), sexual confusion, pyrethrum.
